Yashwant (Yash) Ramessur is Of Counsel at Legis. He was previously living in Paris and is a member of the Paris Bar (“Avocat au Barreau de Paris”). Yash has previously acted as associate and senior associate at various international firms in Paris.
Yash’s focus is on commercial real estate, project development and financing.
He has assisted various international investors (investment funds, real estate companies, and operators) in complex real estate transactions, including due diligence and negotiation of sale and purchase agreements.
Yash also has extensive experience in property development, acting for both developers and occupiers, with a particular emphasis on the retail and office sectors, notably for the negotiation of lease agreements.
In the framework of some of those complex real estate transactions, Yash has also provided assistance on the environmental aspects of such transactions in respect of French environmental law, notably regarding listed facilities (“installations classees pour la protection de l’environnement” – ICPE) such as one of Europe’s largest industrial power plants located in Cestas, France and the development of 200,000 sqm logistics hub/warehouse space in the northern region of France.
