Elodie HERMELIN

Head of Corporate and Compliance

Elodie joined LEGIS and Partners in 2009. She has developed her experience in the corporate providing legal secretarial support to a broad portfolio of Mauritian and international clients.

After a period in the insurance industry as a corporate liability claims manager (Allianz Global Corporate & Specialties – AGCS), she rejoined LEGIS and Partners in 2019 as head of the corporate and compliance department. She is now mainly involved in company law (incorporation and dissolution of companies and supervision of the legal secretariat) and in legal audits. She is also involved in labour law, assisting in the drafting of employment contracts and internal regulations, and assisting the partners and lawyers in drafting legal opinions on various issues.

She oversees activities related to all types of permit and authorization requests: work and residence permits for foreigners (investor, expatriate employee, retiree), building permits (Building and Land Use Permit – BLUP), trade fees, authorization to purchase property under the Non-Citizen (Property Restrictions) Act, and Mauritian citizenship applications.

She oversees relations with banks (opening and closing bank accounts).
